Wound Care
Maplewood’s nursing staff has years of experience in providing comprehensive wound care, including: pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers, traumatic wounds and more. We utilize individualized treatment plans to promote healing of skin, in combination with infection prevention. Our specially trained wound care team is your partner for successful outcomes.
Our physician supervised teams of nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dietician and social workers, work in partnership as you heal and recover. The plan of care is individualized for each person’s specific wound care and healing needs. Available treatments may include: use of specialized equipment for reduced healing time, specialized mattresses, rehabilitation techniques including electrical stimulation, a tailored diet plan and pain management.
Maplewood is proud to have two Wound Care Certified Registered Nurses on staff to assure that we are up to date with the most current and innovative treatments for all types of wounds. Our Wound Care Certified RNs monitor and track the progress of each wound to assure that healing is occurring. If worsening of wounds or even stalled healing occurs, our Wound Care Certified RNs are available to make recommendations in treatment changes and work closely with the Physician to assure successful outcomes.
Each and every nurse at Maplewood is dedicated to providing high quality wound care, which will prevent infection and aid in healing, while assuring the comfort of the resident. Our nursing assistant staff assures each resident has proper positioning and care to enhance wound healing. This teamwork and communication is essential in promoting wound healing.
